Iranian leader postpones Armenia visit (UPDATE)

TEHRAN – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has postponed a one-day visit to Armenia scheduled for Monday, an Armenian presidential spokesman said on Monday.

"The visit will be held at a more convenient time," spokesman Armen Arzumanyan said, without giving further details.

Ahmadinejad was due to hold meetings with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and other top officials and sign a range of bilateral economic agreements.

Mohammad-Hassan Salehi-Maram, an Iranian presidential office representative, said Ahmadinejad’s visit had been put off due to Yerevan’s failure to prepare the agreements for signing on time, adding that it would take place when the documents are ready, Iran’s IRNA news agency reported.
