Armenia pulls bid for UN SC non-permanent seat
BAKU – Armenia has withdrawn its bid for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for 2012-2013 that was to be voted on in fall, a source at the UN told the Baku-based Trend news agency.
Considering that Azerbaijan, which faces a long-standing conflict with Armenia, will take part in the October elections, the move could be seen as Yerevan’s admitting a setback, analysts say.
