MOSCOW – Russia has launched its "Daghestan" missile boat in the Caspian Sea, according to a source at the shipyard based in the Russian Tatarstan republic, which built the vessel.

The vessel will be included into Russia’s Caspian fleet in the first half of 2011.

"Daghestan" boats are designed to search and hit targets in the air, at sea and under the sea. They are supplied with Uran missile systems with a range of 350 km, defense systems to ward off attacks from the air and boats, and special devices that allow to destroy torpedoes.
