Spain rejects proposal on ‘Armenian genocide` recognition
ANKARA – The Foreign Relations Commission of the Spanish Parliament turned down a proposal on recognition of "Armenian genocide", AzerTAc reports citing Turkey`s Anatolian news agency.
Two lawmakers voted for, but 31 against the proposal put forward by the Catalonian Republican Party (ERC).
Spokeswoman of the ruling Socialist Labor Party Isabel Pozuelo stressed the importance of resolving the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict and implementation of political reforms in Armenia to integrate into the European Union.
