Sacked Moscow mayor’s wealth in Armenia under scrutiny

MOSCOW – A broadcast criticizing the Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov who has been dismissed by the Russian president is in the making in Armenia.

A Russian TV channel has sent its reporters and a crew to Armenia who have taped Luzhkov’s wealth in the country, Armenia Today news agency reported.

Luzhkov reportedly has a lot of property in the South Caucasus republic, including land plots in Artashat and Noraguh, and a water basin in Armavir.

Also, reports say that five Russian banks have been instructed to cooperate with 15 Armenian companies that are linked or owned by the former Moscow mayor. There is also speculation that these companies actually belong to the Armenian politicians and Luzhkov was only patronizing the businesses.
