Armenia anxious over trilateral Turkish, Iranian and Azeri meeting
YEREVAN – The planned meeting of Turkish, Azerbaijani and Iranian Foreign Ministers in Igdir, Eastern Turkey, is a message to Yerevan that Armenia is not wanted in the region, Armenian analyst was quoted by media as saying.
"The signal should be disturbing to Russia. The latter has a negative attitude to Turkish-Iranian cooperation, which, she believes, is progressing at the expense of Russia’s interests," Expert at the Armenian Center for Political and International Studies, Ruben Mehrabyan, told PanArmenian.net.
Stating that Iran will benefit from the meeting, Mehrabyan said that the meeting should be evaluated as a message to Yerevan that Armenia is not wanted in the region and to the West that Turkey and Azerbaijan’s interests should be respected.
