China, the world's largest producer of solar panels, plans to produce an additional 339 gigawatts of solar and wind energy this year, Azernews reports.
This is stated in the report of the Global Energy Monitor (GEM) organization headquartered in Washington. The authors of the report note that China will increase its energy potential by 339 gigawatts due to solar and wind energy. This is more than the total capacity of all solar power plants ever built in Europe.
64% of the renewable energy facilities under construction in the world are located in China. Thus, Beijing wants to minimize the use of traditional coal fuel.
