Armenia PM fails to secure Russian loan
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian did not receive a warm
welcome on a visit to Russia and his appeal for another loan to be
spent on building the Iran-Armenia railroad was rejected.
Armenia's daily newspaper Chorrord Ishkhanutyun reported that the
Russian government had begun enquiring as to how Yerevan spent
Moscow’s previous generous loan, worth $500 million, and declined
to lend more funds.*
