Gas price to rise in Armenia: sources
The price of natural gas is expected to increase in Armenia, local media reported.
The Armrosgazprom company, which is majority-owned by Russian gas monopoly Gazprom, has appealed to the country’s pricing regulator over revisiting current fees. The company explained the appeal with the anticipated rise in prices for gas imported to the South Caucasus republic.
Armrosgazprom suggests raising fees by 41.7% for domestic consumers using up to 10,000 cubic meters of gas per month. For industrial enterprises and businesses consuming more than this volume, the proposed increase is 19.1%.
From April 2010, Russia will raise the price of gas it exports to Armenia to $180 per 1,000 cubic meters from the current $154.*
