Medvedev welcomes Turkish-Armenian reconciliation efforts
Russia welcomes normalization of relations between Turkey and
Armenia and intends to continue supporting the process, RIA Novosti
news agency quoted President Dmitry Medvedev as saying at a
European-Asian media forum in Moscow on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters, Medvedev said Russia positively assesses the warming in Ankara-Yerevan ties and the two countries’ seeking compromise to overcome the differences they faced in the 20th century.
According to the Russian president, the main point that should be understood is that restoring ties between the two countries is not aimed against other states. "If this message is delivered properly, there will be no tension in other countries that are closely following the process."*
