Sarkozy, Gul reach secret agreement
Paris and Ankara have reached a secret agreement, France’s Minister for European Affairs Pierre Lelouch said, according to CNN Turk.
As Lelouch told the Turkish Parliament’s Commission for the Foreign Affairs, the French and Turkish Presidents have agreed over three main issues last month, to mitigate the disaccord of dispositions between the parties.
• First point is that France will uphold its disposition over Turkey’s non-full EU integration.
• Turkey’s EU-integration talks, nevertheless, will continue. It is beneficial for everyone, for Turkey as well.
• France-Turkey political, economic and strategic ties should reach the highest level.
The French official highlighted that France realizes Turkey’s "crossroads" significance in the energy map. At the same time, the French Minister condemned Turkey’s policy to Cyprus. *
