Civil Aviation Organization of Iran sets deadline to local companies

By Trend

The Civil Aviation Organization of Iran (CAO) has set a deadline to 5 airline companies using Fokker 100 airplanes to have the airplanes inspected by March 28, said Reza Jafarzadeh, head of public relations office of CAO, Trend reports referring to the CAO’s website.

According to Jafarzadeh, taking into account the cases of the landing gear of Fokker 100 aircrafts malfunctioning and not being extended during landing, the CAO has decided to eliminate the malfunctioning and carry out inspections.

Jafarzadeh added that the companies should carry out inspections in accordance with the decision within the specified period.

"Airline companies using Fokker 100 aircraft are Iran Air, Aseman, Qeshm Air, Kish Air, and Karun," he said.

Last week, due to a malfunction which prevented the landing gear from being extended, two Fokker 100 passenger jets were forced to make emergency landings in Iran.
