Iranian oil minister, Iraqi PM hold talks

Iran's Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh and Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi held talks on Thursday, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations, particularly relations in the energy sector.

Heading a delegation, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh arrived in Baghdad on Thursday morning, and was received by his Iraqi counterpart Thamir Ghadhban.

The two ministers said the OPEC-related coordination issues will be discussed during the visit.

Beside talks with the prime minister, meeting with Iraqi Minister of Electricity Luay al-Khatteeb, and the country's President Barham Salih are on the itinerary of the Iranian oil minister in his visit to Baghdad.

Iran is currently exporting electricity to Iraq. Moreover, the Iranian gas export to Iraq stands at 15 million cubic meters a day that will be increased to some 40 million cubic meters a day when all export plans are implemented.
