By Trend
The head of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced that the Turkish president's order will quickly lift the existing banking barriers between Tehran and Ankara.
“According to the constructive talks between the two presidents, there are certainly significant developments in the economic, commercial and banking relations between Iran and Turkey,” the CBI Governor Abdol Nasser Hemmati said after a meeting between the Iranian and Turkish delegates in the presence of the presidents of the two countries in Ankara on Tuesday, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani left for Ankara yesterday to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and to attend the fifth session of the Strategic Council of the two countries.
"The issues of banking between the two countries were raised,” the CBI governor stated.
“The Turkish president had a very positive view about the development of business and the smooth functioning of the banking system, and emphasized the resolution of problems, prompting to quickly remove the barriers to the banking system,” he said.
On the sidelines of the Iranian president's visit to Turkey, two memorandums of understanding on health and communications were signed with the Turkish side.
Based on these two memorandums, Iran and Turkey will develop their cooperation in health and communications.
