Construction materials- most traded goods on Uzbek Commodity Exchange

Oct. 29 – Nov. 2 trade-week on the Uzbek Commodity Exchange (UZEX) ended by transactions worth 904.0 billion soums (over $109 million), which is 44.7 percent more than a week before, the press service of the exchange said.
The volume of exchange trading rose from 540.0 billion soums to 834.8 billion soums. In the structure of sales, construction materials held the first place with a share of 20.7 percent. Cotton fiber ranked second, with a share of 13.8 percent, followed by oil products with a share of 9.9 percent, as well as gas and polyethylene – 7.3 percent.
The currency trading site of the exchange sold local goods worth $8.6 million. A significant part of the deals concluded fell on cathode copper – 36 percent, followed by polyethylene with a share of 31 percent and copper rod and cotton fiber with 16 and 12 percent respectively.
