Iran president accepts resignation of industry minister, appoints caretaker

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani accepted the resignation of Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari and appointed a caretaker minister of industry.
On Saturday evening, Rouhani accepted Shariatmadari’s resignation and appointed Reza Rahmani as the caretaker minister of industry, IRNA reported on October 20.
Rouhani has also proposed him to the parliament for the vacant ministry for the vote of confidence.
The president also appointed Mohammad Eslami as the caretaker ministers of road after accepting the resignation of Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi.
Akhoundi released his resignation letter to the public earlier on Saturday, citing disagreements on urban redevelopment as the main reason behind his decision.
