Georgians losing faith in Russia: Gallup
The confidence of Georgians in Russia is dwindling,
a Gallup poll has found.
Whereas 57% of Georgian citizens supported strong bonds with Russia shortly before the brief war fought with the country in August 2008, only 32% of them are of this opinion now.
In contrast, the number of supporters of closer ties with Azerbaijan has increased from 5% to 12% in a year`s time.
US Gallup group, which studies public opinion around the world, conducted interviews in June 2008 and May 2009 with 1,000 Georgians to study their attitude toward CIS states.
