Uzbekistan, India to hold joint military drills

Following the visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India, the two countries agreed to expand and strengthen partnership in the field of defense and defense industry, Uzbek media reported.

“Both sides agreed to hold joint military exercises in combating terrorism, cooperate in the fields of military education and military medicine, create a joint working group to promote the expansion of mutually beneficial defense-related activities and the establishment of a defense sector in the Embassy of Uzbekistan in New Delhi,” reads a joint statement by the two presidents.

In addition, the two countries agreed to cooperate in new areas of space and nuclear energy, explore further interaction in the fields of science and technology, solar and other types of renewable energy sources.
