A pilot version of the information system for control and
accounting of pharmaceutical products’ movement will be launched in
Uzbekistan beginning from July 1, 2019, "Podrobno.uz" reported
citing a government decree.
The Uzinfocom Center, the State Unitary enterprise under the
Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and
Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be engaged in
development of the system. It will collect detailed information on
pharmaceutical products sold in Uzbekistan, as well as information
on parties involved in the goods’ supply chain, from the
manufacturer to the consumer.
The main advantage of the new system is the implementation of
automated tracking of movement and accounting of products through
special marking.
In the future, it is planned to integrate it with the systems
and databases of the "Health Care" complex, which will allow for
introducing the procedure of prescribing pharmaceutical products by
a doctor using an electronic prescription form, which will be the
basis for the release of that product from the pharmacy.
The Ministry of Health should sum up the results of the pilot
project until February 20, 2020 and submit its proposals on the
final terms of connection to the system of all participants in the
supply chain of pharmaceutical products, having provided for a ban
on the sale of the information system to the legal entities not
connected to the system.
