Turkish Armed Forces receive order to destroy any force moving towards Syria’s Afrin

Turkish Armed Forces have received an order to destroy any force moving towards Syria’s Afrin, Turkish media reported Feb. 22, referring to military sources.

The Turkish General Staff made such a decision after the attempted invasion of Afrin by the Syrian pro-government forces, according to the report.

It is also reported that detachments of the Turkish gendarmerie and special police entered the territories liberated from terrorists in Afrin on Feb. 21.

A total of 93 settlements were liberated from terrorists as part of the Operation Olive Branch in Afrin.

On Jan. 20, the Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Free Syrian Army, launched the Operation Olive Branch in Afrin, Syria.

F-16 fighters of the Turkish Air Force are involved in the operation, inflicting strikes on the positions of PYD/YPG on the Syrian-Turkish border.
