The State Migration Service of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Elena Panova, the Service said in a message.

It should be especially noted during the meeting that Turkmenistan attaches great importance and actively participates in the implementation of global plans and UN sustainable development goals on migration issues until 2024, says the message.

The sides noted the importance of the humanitarian action carried out by the Turkmen side in honor of the International Day of Neutrality - the admission of new citizens to the Turkmen citizenship.

It was noted that the executive committee of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, as well as the International Organization for Migration, gave the same assessment to this event.

It should be noted that 1,690 people became Turkmen citizens in honor of the International Day of Neutrality – December 12, 2017.
