Uzbekistan stimulating introduction of drip irrigation

Commercial banks of Uzbekistan were tasked to assist the country’s farms and agricultural facilities, which introduce drip irrigation systems and other water-saving irrigation technologies, in attraction of investments, according to a decree of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, adopted on November 27.
Uzbekistan’s State Program for the Development of Irrigation and Improvement of the Reclamation of Irrigated Lands for 2018-2019 has been approved in accordance with the decree.
The program includes implementation of projects for construction, reconstruction, repair and restoration of irrigation and reclamation facilities, introduction of drip irrigation systems and other water-saving technologies.
