By Trend

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak will discuss the Ankara-Moscow energy issues during the visit to Sochi, Russia on November 13, the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources told Trend.

Those discussions will be held within Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Sochi Nov. 13 where he will meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

During the visit, Albayrak is expected to hold talks with Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak.

"The details of the construction of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline and Turkey’s Akkuyu nuclear power plant are planned to be discussed during the visit," the ministry said.

Earlier it was reported that Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation hopes to obtain a license for the construction of the Akkuyu plant in Turkey no later than March 2018 to commission the first unit of Akkuyu plant on October 29, 2023 on the centennial anniversary of the Turkish Republic.

An intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Turkey on cooperation in construction and operation of the Akkuyu plant was signed in 2010.

Meanwhile, Turkish Stream gas pipeline project envisages construction of two branches of the main gas pipeline under the Black Sea, the capacity of each branch being 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas.
