European Parliament to host hearing on EU accession to Istanbul Convention
The European Parliament`s committees on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and on Women's Rights and Gender Equality will conduct a hearing on the EU accession to the Istanbul Convention on preventing and combating violence against women on March 27.
Azerbaijani MP, PACE General rapporteur on violence Sahiba Gafarova will make remarks at the hearing, Azertac reported.
Other speakers will include Elisabeth Moiron-Braud, Interministerial Mission on the protection of Women from violence; Gun Heimer, Swedish Expert from the NCK; Maria Miguel Sierra, Director of La Voix des femmes (EWL); Anna Maria Corazza Bildt and Christine Revault D'allonnes Bonnefoy, EP rapporteurs on the file.
The hearing will contribute to the interim report to be drafted jointly by the two committees.
