Tanguy Cosmao becomes new president of Statoil Azerbaijan

Tanguy Cosmao will assume the position of new president of Statoil Azerbaijan effective 1 July 1, Statoil reported on June 25.
Since 2010, Cosmao has lived in Baku and managed Statoil's participation in Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli PSA and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline as Vice President of Area Development.
Cosmao joined Statoil Development and Production International in 2006 based first in Stavanger then London in charge of Business Development in the North Africa region. Before joining Statoil, Cosmao worked nearly 20 years in Bouygues Offshore and Saipem where he held several management positions in particular in Turkey, South Korea, Angola and France.
Cosmao holds a MsC degree in Civil Engineering and Geotechnics from the Northwestern University, Chicago, USA and Civil Engineering from Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG), France.
Statoil is an international energy company with operations in 36 countries.
Statoil entered Azerbaijan in 1992. It is the second largest foreign investor in the country. Statoil has invested more than $5 billion and is a partner with 8,56 percent share in the oil producing Azeri-Chiraq-Guneshli (ACG ) field, the Shah Deniz gas field with 25,5 percent share, and the corresponding pipelines Baku-Tblisi-Cheyhan (BTC) and South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP).
