SOCAR prepares plan to prevent oil spills

Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR's Ecology Department has prepared a draft plan for the prevention and mitigation of SOCAR oil spills, the company said on Thursday, Trend news agency reported.
The plan contains measures to prevent oil product spills in Azerbaijan, as well as measures for correcting the consequences of oil spills.
The project was submitted to SOCAR for consideration.
SOCAR is the only producer of oil products in the country and also owns petrol stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland. SOCAR is the co-owner of the largest Turkish petrochemical complex Petkim.
