Oil field discovered at Iranian airport
An oil field has been discovered in the vicinity of the airport
near the city of Ahvaz in Iran, resulting in the airport having to
be relocated, according to Trend news agency.
Director of the Iranian Airports Company Mohammed Rasulnijad made
this statement on the news website of an Iranian television,
İribnews news agency reported on Friday.
He said the field has been discovered near the airport's runway.
"The Iranian Oil Ministry will acquire Ahvaz airport and the new airport will be built in 15 kilometres from the city," Rasulnijad said.
He said the Cabinet of Ministers had already taken a decision in connection with the transfer of the airport and the construction of the new airport will start in the coming days.
