Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation's new head appointed

New Director General has been appointed to the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation.

On Tuesday new head David Tvalabeishvili was introduced by executive director of the Georgian Partnership Fund Irakli Kovzanadze and Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze, the corporation told Trend news agency.

According to Kovzanadze, Tvalabeishvili has extensive experience in the oil and gas field, because he served as project manager for USAID, as well as the Tbilisi office of the World Bank for several years.

"Appointing Tvalabeishvili will strengthen the company and its interests, its cost, will make the company more developed in terms of management..," Kovzanadze said, stressing that Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation will address challenges "that face the state".

Tvalabeishvili expressed his gratitude for the appointment and said that he knows that there are many professionals in the corporation and he hopes to improve the company's activity.

It should be noted that Zurab Janjgava has headed the corporation since 2007.
