Turkey may sue Greek Depa over Azeri gas - sources

ANKARA – Turkey’s state-owned energy firm Botas is holding talks with Greece’s Depa on increasing fees for the transit of Azerbaijani gas, Turkey’s Haberturk newspaper reported.

The report says that due to the increase in the price of Azerbaijan’s gas exported to Turkey to $250 from $120 per 1,000 cubic meters, Botas demanded that Greece pay higher transit fees. But the Greek side reportedly disagrees, saying that the previous price should apply.

If Depa insists, Turkey may take it to an international court of arbitration, Haberturk quoted sources at the Turkish energy ministry as saying. Under this case-scenario, Ankara is highly likely to win the litigation, the report said.
