Bucharest hosts int’l conference on Azerbaijan’s role in European energy security
BUCHAREST – An international conference on Azerbaijan`s role in energy security of Europe has been held in Bucharest.
The event was co-organized by Azerbaijan`s embassy and Romania-Azerbaijan Culture and Youth Association with support of the Committee for work with Diaspora.
The conference brought together Romanian officials, diplomats and representatives of several leading companies.
Speakers at the event highlighted Azerbaijan’s geostrategic position, energy policy and oil strategy, saying it is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
They said Azerbaijan’s independent and resolute policy was an example for some regional countries.
The speakers called Azerbaijan a reliable partner "as the country has never used its energy resources as a political tool".
They underlined the unresolved conflicts in the region, including Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was a serious threat to Europe’s security.
