Azeri gasoline to meet European standards, energy exec says
Azerbaijan will soon begin producing gasoline products meeting the
Euro-3 and Euro-4 standards, and projects have been tackled to
reach that goal. Building a new refinery in the country is also
planned to produce such fuel, which will meet all environmental
standards, according to the president of the Azerbaijani state
energy firm SOCAR, Rovnag Abdullayev.
"A major plan of activities is in the making to bring fuel products into compliance with the required standards. Along with the construction of a new refinery in the Garadagh district [outside Baku], it includes providing outdated enterprises with new equipment," Abdullayev said.*
