A meeting of the joint technical commission from the Azerbaijani side, created in connection with the continuation of the construction of ‘Khudaferin’ and ‘Giz Galasi’ hydro-junctions and hydroelectric power plants on the Araz River, was held at the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy, Trend reports referring to the ministry.

The current construction process, the further actions and obligations of the structures responsible for the construction were discussed at the meeting.

Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Energy, co-chairman of the commission Elnur Solnatov stressed that the implementation of the agreement on the construction of ‘Khudaferin’ and ‘Giz Galasi’ hydro-junctions and hydroelectric power plants is of strategic importance.

The reports on the work carried out by the working group were heard. The construction of ‘Khudaferin’ dam completed by 95 percent. ‘Giz Galasi’ hydro-junctions on the Araz River will be built next year.

The joint technical commission includes the representatives of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Culture, the State Committee on Property Issues, the State Security Service, the State Border Service, Azerenergy OJSC, Azerishiq OJSC.
