Houston-based KBR Company, which is engaged in engineering, procurement, and construction services, reached two global agreements with BP International Limited on rendering of technical services in Azerbaijan and other countries.

The first agreement envisages provision of conceptual engineering services, while the second covers pre-front end engineering design (FEED) and FEED engineering services.

Both documents have a contractual duration of three years with an option on each to extend for two additional years.

The scope of services covers onshore, offshore, subsea, drilling, greenfield and brownfield upstream engineering services in Alaska, Angola, Azerbaijan, Gulf of Mexico, Indonesia, Oman, Trinidad and the United Kingdom. The company which has a 50-year successful working relationship with BP, participated in a number of BP’s projects, including Shah Deniz Phase II project implemented in Azerbaijan.

In 2013, KBR was awarded a contract by BP Exploration (Shah Deniz) Limited to provide engineering and procurement support services for the Shah Deniz Stage 2 Project following the successful completion of the FEED services.

KBR provides engineering design and procurement support services for an offshore complex consisting of two bridge-linked fixed jacket platforms as well as an onshore facility that consists of two gas processing trains, and condensate processing facilities located adjacent to the existing Shah Deniz Stage 1 facilities at Sangachal Terminal

Shah Deniz Stage 2, one of the largest gas developments in the world, will help increase European energy security by bringing Caspian gas resources to markets in Europe.
