Two Azeris among arrested terror suspects in Pakistan: paper
Two Azerbaijani nationals are among four foreigners
arrested near Pakistan`s border with Iran on suspicion of links
with international terrorists, Pakistan`s Daily Times newspaper
reported.
The suspects, who also include two Turkish citizens, were arrested in a raid conducted in the town of Tasp in Panjgur and were immediately handed over to investigative agencies, a Panjgur-based police official said on condition of anonymity.
Panjgur police believed the four men were members of Al-Qaeda who entered Pakistan via Afghanistan and were planning to go to Iran to pursue terrorist activities, the publication quoted sources as saying.
The suspects claimed to have come to Pakistan to acquire religious education, although according to police it seemed they wanted to cross the border into Iran, the report said.
