Some Azeris go on pilgrimage for trade - clerical leader
Some Azerbaijanis go on Hajj pilgrimage for the
purposes of trade, chairman of the Caucasus Clerical Office,
Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazada has said.
He told a meeting of the Clergy Council on Tuesday that engaging in commerce was actually not considered a sin, but the real objective of going to Mecca should be visiting the holy sites.
We recall that a quota of 6,000 had been allocated to Azerbaijan for Hajj pilgrimage this year. A total of 5,920 people have gone on pilgrimage from the country. Two of them died in the holy land.
