Presidential couple attends Int’l Travel and Tourism Fair

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva visited the 15th Azerbaijan International Travel and Tourism Fair AITF 2016 and the 10th Caucasus International Hospitality Fair HOREX Caucasus 2016 exhibition at Baku Expo Center on April 8, Azertac state news agency reports.

Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev informed the head of state and his spouse that this year the AITF exhibition, which was launched in 2002, marks its 15th anniversary.

The AITF 2016 exhibition brings together more than 200 companies presenting various areas of tourism. Belarus, the Czech Republic, Georgia, the Dominican Republic, India, Croatia, Indonesia, Iran, Spain, Montenegro, the Stavropol Region of the Russian Federation, Thailand, Turkey and Jurmala demonstrate the tourism potential of their countries and regions. Companies from the US, Jordan, Switzerland, Italy, Latvia, Maldives, Russia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Greece and other countries joined the exhibition with their own stands.

The AITF 2016 widely presents the tourism potential of Azerbaijan. Stands of Ganja, Ismayilli, Lankaran, Masalli, Mingachevir, Nakhchivan and other regions highlight the tourism potential of the country. The stand of Karabakh is a traditional participant of the exhibition, representing the beauty and opportunities for tourism in the region.

The head of state and his spouse then viewed buses and minibuses, which will be used in the city sightseeing tours of Baku.

President Ilham Aliyev wished the exhibition success.
