Competitions at the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics have been organized at the highest level, says Maria João Lopes Cardoso, chargé d’affaires of the Portuguese embassy in Azerbaijan.
Speaking to Trend March 5, Cardoso said that while in Baku she became a big fan of the gymnastics.
The diplomat said she had already attended competitions in gymnastics during the Baku 2015 European Games.
Cardoso added that Baku has a very good National Gymnastics Arena.
“The level of the competitions is as high as during the European Games. Everything is organized very well, high level of security is being felt,” she said.
The FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics is being held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.
Athletes from Europe, Japan, Australia and the US are participating in the World Cup, which opens the first season of the Olympic competitions.
Overall, 77 gymnasts (46 men and 31 women), who represent 17 countries, are to participate in the competitions.
Following the first day of the qualification event, the competitions will complete by finals on March 6.
