Baku can use nuke summit in US to its advantage
Taking into account attacks on Azerbaijan and on its internal politics, it is a positive development that President Ilham Aliyev was invited to participate in the nuclear summit in the US, Ariel Cohen, the leading expert of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security, principal of International Market Analysis, Ltd. told Trend.
US President Barack Obama invited Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to participate in the 4th Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, DC, Novruz Mammadov, deputy head of Azerbaijani presidential administration, chief of the administration’s foreign relations department, tweeted Jan.6.
The summit will be held in Washington, DC from March 31 to April 1, 2016.
"Azerbaijan can use this event to explain its complicated geopolitical position and security challenges, and use the opportunity to its advantage," Cohen explained.
