Bodies of missing oilmen brought to Azerbaijan
The bodies of two oilmen that had been missing after a fire in an offshore oil platform operated by SOCAR have been found in the Turkmen section of the Caspian Sea.
Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Emergency Situations sent a BE-200ÇS amphibious aircraft to Turkmenistan to collect the bodies.
The bodies of Azizagha Nohbala Quliyev and Adil Alakbar Abdullayev were delivered to Azerbaijan, the Ministry said.
A fire broke out on the platform #10 of Azerbaijan’s offshore Gunashli field on December 4, after an underwater high-pressure gas pipeline was damaged in strong storm. Out of 63 people who were on platform at the moment of accident only 33 were rescued, while 21 are still regarded missing with nine dead.
The Emergency Situations Ministry further reported that it continues measures to eliminate the consequences of the accident on the platform #10.
