President addresses world Azeris on Solidarity Day
President Ilham Aliyev has addressed world Azerbaijanis on the
occasion of December 31, Day of Solidarity of World
Azerbaijanis.
Aliyev indicated that respect for the national and moral values of the Azerbaijani people, love for the motherland as well as the sense and idea of Azerbaijanism lied at the core of this remarkable date, which is celebrated every year by Azerbaijanis worldwide. He said the propagation of these ideas among world Azerbaijanis as well as the protection and development of the Azerbaijani language, culture and traditions were important factors. "Purposeful measures are being taken to step up organization of Azerbaijanis in the countries they densely populate, and to strengthen their bonds with the homeland. Today, Azerbaijanis are becoming an influential and active community in the countries they live in, integrating into the economic, political and cultural life of society and playing a significant role in establishing cooperation between those countries and Azerbaijan," says the address.
President Aliyev also recommended that Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations and relevant government agencies work hard to expand cooperation with the Diaspora organizations of friendly countries.
