Funds allocated to Global Forum of UN Alliance of Civilizations 2016

Azerbaijan allocates 3.5 million manat for the organization of the 7th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations to be held in Baku on April 25-27, 2016.
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on extra measures for the organization of the Global Forum on November 11.
The sum will be allocated from the 2015 Contingency Fund of the President to the Culture and Tourism Ministry.
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov voiced proposal of the Azerbaijani government to hold 7th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations in Baku in 2016 at the annual meeting of the ministers of the UN Alliance of Civilizations in 2014.
Representatives of Bahrain, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Qatar and other countries supported the initiative of Baku, noticing the rich traditions of multiculturalism and tolerance in Azerbaijan.
