Turkey, Azerbaijan fraternal countries
Turkey and Azerbaijan are fraternal countries, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on October 22, TRT Haber TV channel reported.
President Erdogan said that the two countries have common culture and history and cannot exist separately.
President Erdogan said that as earlier, Turkey would develop the relations with Azerbaijan, as well as the Turkic-speaking countries.
He also said that the relations with Libya, Egypt and a number of other Muslim countries are also important for Turkey.
Azerbaijan and Turkey's relations have always been strong due to their common culture and history and the mutual intelligibility of Turkish and Azerbaijani languages.
Turkey was the first country in the world to recognize Azerbaijan's independence in 1991 and has been a staunch supporter of Azerbaijan in its efforts to consolidate its independence, preserve its territorial integrity, and realize the economic potential that arises from the rich natural resources of the Caspian Sea.
