The mobile sector development in Azerbaijan was mulled as Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov has met a delegation led by Johan Dennelind, the President and CEO of group of companies TeliaSonera.

Speaking about the progressive development of high technologies in Azerbaijan in recent years, Abbasov highlighted the specific weight of the mobile sector in this development.

Saying the upgrading infrastructure of mobile communications, as well as in other areas information and communication technologies (ICTs) is one of the main issues in this regard, the minister spoke about technical capabilities, as well as promising areas of cooperation with the company.

In turn, Dennelind expressed their interest in successful development of relations based on the principles of mutually beneficial cooperation in the future.

The meeting also discussed about the achievements of Azercell Telecom LLC, part of group of companies TeliaSonera, in the mobile sector, and the active participation of the company in the provision of mobile services during the organization of the Baku 2015 first European Games.

They also noted the company’s efforts made to lift its activity to a new level in Azerbaijan and future plans, as well as exchanged views on the development of LTE technology, strengthening of measures to improve the quality of customer satisfaction, the importance of providing high-quality communication services during the forthcoming European Games and other issues, AzerTac state news agency reported
