Novruz holiday celebrated in Californian Costa Mesa city
The ASA West (Azerbaijani Society of America) has organized an
event celebrating Novruz holiday at the Orange County Hilton hotel
in Costa Mesa city of California.
The event brought together nearly 250 members of Azerbaijani
community of Southern California, as well as Chairman of the U.S.
House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Congressman Ed Royce, mayor of
Irvine city of Orange County Steven Choi and mayor of Fountain
Valley city Steve Nagel.
Addressing the event, Congressman Ed Royce stressed Azerbaijan`s
importance in the region.
Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez and Congressmen Ed Royce, Dana
Rohrabacher presented certificates of recognition to members of
Azerbaijani community on the occasion.
Congresswoman Mimi Walters, senator from California Bob Huff and
representatives of Advisory Board for the Orange County Council
Todd Spitzer and Lisa Bartlett have also sent certificates of
recognition to members of Azerbaijani community.
Following the official part, the attendees heard performances by
singer Novruz Mammadov, musicians Fuad Javadov and Rahman
Asadollayi.
The event was financed by some members of Azerbaijani community of
Southern California and AZPROMO.
