Hackers target gov`t agencies
Attacks by computer hackers on the websites of numerous Azerbaijani
government agencies have been prevented, Deputy Minister of
Communication and Information Technologies, Iltimas Mammadov, has
said.
Further, law enforcement agencies have been informed about the attempted attacks, he told a local TV channel.
The state bodies targeted by hackers include the Ministries of Justice and Agriculture, the State Agency for Standards, Metrology and Patents, and the Auditing Chamber.
Mammadov said the hackers had mainly targeted web pages undergoing updates or those under construction and, partly, achieved their aims.
"Although we did not witness any destructive activity, hackers, by taking advantage of gaps, succeeded in posting their own information for one to two hours," the deputy minister added.
