President Aliyev reinforces Azerbaijan’s position on international stage
Azerbaijan has strengthened its position on the international stage thanks to President Ilham Aliyev’s wise policy, said Nathalie Goulet, the member of French Senate.
She said Azerbaijan is pursuing a successful foreign policy, despite the frozen Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and uneasy neighborhood with Russia and Iran.
“Thanks to President Aliyev’s wise policy Azerbaijan has become a trusted ally for Europe and NATO,” Goulet told Trend.
Speaking about Azerbaijan’s commitment to democratic values, Goulet said Azerbaijan managed to maintain cultural respect and religious tolerance in a very difficult time.
“I hope Azerbaijan will continue to progress in this way to reach more democratic standards,” she said, adding that Azerbaijan has already achieved a lot for a country facing a war.
Goulet also underscored the economic progress achieved by Azerbaijan thanks to the President Aliyev’s policy.
She also highlighted the important role of Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in the country’s success.
Goulet said Azerbaijan owes to Mehriban Aliyeva for many of the country’s achievements.
