Ecuador seeks expanded cooperation with Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani ambassador to Ecuador Elnur Sultanov delivered his credentials to country's Vice President Jorge Glas.
Sultanov conveyed President Ilham Aliyev's greetings to Ecuador's President Rafael Correa, the Azerbaijani foreign ministry reported on October 28.
He said that as the first ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ecuador, he will make every effort for the development of the relations between the two countries.
Glas asked to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to President Aliyev. He said that Ecuador is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan.
Sultanov also met with Acting Foreign Minister of Ecuador Leonardo Arizaga, Minister of Non-Renewable Natural Resources Pedro Merizalde, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Roberto Betancourt and other officials, as well as the Secretary General of the Union of South American Nations Ernesto Samper to discuss the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ecuador.
