Youth, Sports Minister meets UN Secretary-General

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov has met United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as part of the visit to the U.S.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the final preparations for the first Global Forum on Youth Policies to be held in Baku on October 28-30.
Rahimov thanked the UN Secretary-General for his support to hold the Forum.
He also highlighted youth and sports policy in Azerbaijan, as well as achievements in these fields.
The minister briefed Ban Ki-moon on the Baku 2015 First European Games, and stressed the importance of holding the Games in the European continent for the first time.
Ban Ki-moon hailed the successful policy carried out in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
Earlier, Rahimov presented Baku 2015 European Games in United Nations General Assembly in New York City. Rahimov also enjoyed a meeting with President of the 69th General Assembly of the United Nations, Sam Kutesa.
The first European games that will take place from June 12 to 28, 2015, will gather more than 6,000 athletes to compete in a total of 20 sports over the 17 days of competition.
