Developing Azerbaijani-Iranian ties in focus in Gilan
The role of Gilan Province in Azerbaijani-Iranian relations was mulled as Azerbaijani Consul General in Tabriz Ali Alizade has met Governor of the Gilan Province Mohamed Ali Najafi,.
Alizade highlighted developing Azerbaijani-Iranian ties with the will of both countries` Heads of States AzerTag state news agency reported.
The Consul General also said arrivals and departures of both countries` citizens were facilitated, as well as economic and trade relations increased as the result of meetings held between Azerbaijani and Iranian officials.
He said there was greater potential for boosting relations with Gilan Province in the fields of science, sport, and tourism.
Ali Najafi, in turn, said the necessary conditions were created for visit of Azerbaijani citizens to the Gilan Province.
He also spoke of the opportunities for opening Rasht-Baku-Astrakhan air flights and Anzali-Baku cruise ship. The governor said his province would try to give its contribution to developing Azerbaijani-Iranian ties.
The sides further exchanged views on arranging the regular meetings, continuation of holding the joint economic, cultural, scientific projects, as well as in the customs and border fields.
