Baku Open 2014 to attract 23 countries

International chess tournament Baku Open 2014 will attract a record number of 23 countries this year.

Chess players from 22 countries will come to participate in the sixth International Chess Festival in AF Hotel, Novkhani, Head of the National Chess Center and the tournament director Majid Efendiyev said.

The huge credit of the event will go to the main organizers of the festival Youth and Sports Ministry and the Azerbaijan's Chess Federation.

International tournament for children up to 12 years, which was traditionally attended by over 100 young players from different countries, has finished at the Republican Chess Center as part of this great tournament.

International organizer of FIDE Efendiyev expressed special thanks on behalf of all the children to those organizations that provided sponsorship to the children's tournament.

The undisputed champion of the "C" category tournament was a student from the school №6 of Baku Ahmed Ahmadzade, and a student from №308 school Govhar Beydullayeva.

Baku Open 2014 dedicated to the 23rd anniversary of the state independence of Azerbaijan will be held this September.
